Greg Stubblefield Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Vice President, Global Sales & Marketing
Greg Stubblefield is Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Vice President–Global Sales & Marketing for Enterprise Holdings, the world’s largest car rental company as measured by revenue, fleet and employees. As a senior executive, Stubblefield serves on the corporate board of Enterprise Holdings and not only leads the strategic growth of the company’s brands, but also the expansion of its global franchise network. He also oversees the company’s marketing & communications organization as well as its global sustainability strategy.

Enterprise Holdings operates Alamo Rent A Car and National Car Rental as well as its flagship Enterprise Rent-A-Car brand. Ranked by Forbes as one of America’s Largest Private Companies, it is also the most comprehensive service provider and only investment-grade company in the U.S. car rental industry. Enterprise Holdings’ extensive network includes more than 6,000 fully staffed neighborhood and airport offices located within 15 miles of 90 percent of the U.S. population, almost 70 percent more than its nearest U.S. competitor. Enterprise Holdings also operates more vehicles in its domestic fleet than the fleets of all other U.S. car rental companies combined. The company is owned by the Taylor family and headquartered in St. Louis.

The company and its affiliate Enterprise Fleet Management together offer a total transportation solution. Combined, these businesses – which include extensive car rental and car-sharing services, commercial truck rental, corporate fleet management and retail car sales – accounted for $17.8 billion in revenue and operated more than 1.5 million vehicles throughout the world in fiscal 2014.

Enterprise Holdings operates a network of nearly 8,600 fully staffed neighborhood and airport locations in nearly 70 countries. Its worldwide revenues place the company near the top of the global travel industry, exceeding many airlines and most cruise lines, hotels, tour operators and online travel agencies. As a result, Stubblefield serves on the U.S. Travel and Tourism Advisory Board and co-chairs the Board’s Infrastructure subcommittee. As the advisory body to the Secretary of Commerce, the Board provides counsel on current tourism industry concerns, emerging issues and government policies, including car rental excise taxes. Stubblefield also serves on the U.S. Travel Association’s CEO Roundtable on behalf of the Alamo, Enterprise and National car rental brands and represents Enterprise Holdings on the World Travel and Tourism Council. Stubblefield was honored with a 2015 Travvy Award as the Most Innovative Car Rental Executive Award in the travel industry.

At the University of California, Berkeley, Stubblefield earned a football scholarship and graduated with a social science degree in 1982. He then began his career as an Enterprise Rent-A-Car Management Trainee in Southern California. Stubblefield quickly worked his way up the ranks to Rental Branch Manager, Area Manager and Regional Vice President. Next he was appointed Corporate Vice President at the company’s St. Louis headquarters, managing 10 regional subsidiaries throughout the U.S. Later, he held the post of Senior Vice President of International Operations, leading the expansion and development of Enterprise’s business outside the U.S. In 1999, Stubblefield returned to Southern California to become Executive Vice President and General Manager. In 2003, he was named President and General Manager and, one year later, President of Operations in California and Hawaii.

The Taylor family acquired the Alamo Rent A Car and National Car Rental brands in 2007, the largest acquisition ever in the car rental industry. That year, Stubblefield was appointed President of Alamo and National, overseeing the operational and cultural integration of the two brands into the company’s regional subsidiaries. Stubblefield was appointed to his current position at the company’s St. Louis headquarters in 2009.

Under Stubblefield’s leadership, Enterprise Holdings’ global expansion continues, with a focus on the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific, including China. In addition, Enterprise CarShare is expanding its retail programs into key urban markets, and the company is strengthening its technological platform for vanpooling and car-sharing by acquiring the online Zimride ride-matching program. Stubblefield also oversees the second-largest vanpooling operation in the country, Enterprise Rideshare, a program that reduces the environmental impact of daily commutes and personal transportation.

In California, Stubblefield was involved in various charitable and business organizations, including the United Way of Greater Los Angeles, where he served as Board Chair for two terms. He also was an Executive Committee Member for both the California Business Roundtable and the Los Angeles Urban League.
