After joining the company in 2011, Johannes founded the Performance Marketing team and scaled it to encompass more than 50 markets in three years — making it one of the biggest and fastest-growing players in the search marketing space. In 2013 he created trivago N.V.’s Business Operations & Strategy department, a team whose core projects include strategic company acquisitions and the in-house development of the platform that’s enabled trivago N.V. to rapidly expand its marketing efforts across the globe.
Today, Johannes aims to disrupt the hotel distribution landscape by reinventing the way trivago N.V. connects advertisers to its millions of travelers around the world. His teams are empowering advertisers to embrace the digital world by providing them with competitive technology and equipping them with essential marketing knowledge. Collectively, they make up the fastest-growing unit at trivago N.V. and have already forged relationships with over 180 bookings sites, 230 hotel chains, and 310,000 hotels worldwide.
