Tedd Evers (@teddevers) is the Founder and CEO of TripTuner (https://triptuner.com) an engaging web app where travelers self-curate destinations and experiences by fine-tuning an addictive array of sliders. Inspired by a stereo equalizer, TripTuner is a mix of Tedd’s passions for travel, music, and an appreciation of the nuance that defines one’s preferences.
TripTuner’s patented solution converts upper funnel engagement into bookings for leading brands like CheapTickets and ebookers and inspires visitors for destinations like VISIT FLORIDA and the Bahamas. Its Taste Lab offers rich insights from first-party data into traveler preferences.
TripTuner launched as a bootstrapped startup in October 2011, reaching profitability in just 14 months. Since then it’s grown each year, fine-tuning millions of preferences for travelers in over 192 countries while appearing in CNN, NBC News and The New York Times.
Tedd left a successful corporate sales career to travel the world for a year before joining the launch team Site59.com, which grew to $100 million in sales prior to its acquisition by Travelocity. At Travelocity, he led the hotel teams generating over $250 million in revenue, then joined eDreams in Barcelona to grow the hotels and packages business in the run up to its 2010 sale.
Tedd played semi-pro basketball (little money, less fame) in Germany after graduating from Harvard and has been travelling ever since to over 68 countries. He’s enjoyed shooting hoops with locals from Algeria to Chile, Cambodia to Cote d’Ivoire and at a few secure installations around Washington, DC.
