Prior to founding Arival, Douglas was senior vice president, research, at Phocuswright, the leading travel industry research firm. He played a central role in building Phocuswright research and programming the Phocuswright Conference, the bellwether event for online travel. With nearly two decades of experience in qualitative and quantitative research, he designed and led numerous seminal studies on tours and activities, vacation rentals, social media and traveler reviews, travel agencies, online travel agencies and more.
