Notably, during his tenure at VRBO/Expedia, Mariano oversaw the marketplace transactional revenue, customer, and supply growth for over 130 countries, playing a pivotal role in driving the marketplace business model transformation and exponential revenue growth, culminating in the company’s lucrative $3.9 billion acquisition by Expedia.

Mariano is currently Chair/Board member & Advisor to high-growth marketplaces, AI, and financial services companies, such as Civitatis (the leading marketplace of Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking activities and guided tours all over the world, a Vitruvian portfolio), Klook (Asia’s leading travel and experience platform, a Vitruvian portfolio), WP Engine (the biggest Digital Experience Platform (DXP) for websites and applications built on WordPress – a Silverlake portfolio), and ZenBusiness (an SMB technology platform that powers and supports over 700,000 businesses in the US – a Greycroft and SoftBank portfolio).
